I am a 34-year-old female originally from Grants Pass, Oregon with a passion for travel and creator of Passport Perfection travel blog. I had the travel bug bite at 15 years old when my parents sent me on a plane, by myself, across the pond to spend a summer in London with my cousin who was living there. It was one of the best experiences of my life and I left a piece of my heart, a huge piece of my heart, in Europe. Since then I have made many trips but I absolutely fell in love with Germany from the very moment I first stepped off the airplane at Frankfurt International. Whether it is the people, the food, the culture, the food, the castles, the food, the beer, (did I mention the food) I love it all. Yes, can you tell I love the food…mmmm thinking about it makes my mouth water!
One thing about me though is that I am a crazy planner. I like to research and plan EVERYTHING. I find it hard to even book a hotel room without researching for hours. Which inevitably means reading review upon review or travel guide upon travel guide. I always am as informed as I possibly can when deciding on an itinerary, or hotel, or airline ticket that is just how I am. What I found when doing my crazy research is that a lot of what is out there is either not in-depth enough for me or doesn’t sound real. However, I loved reading travel blogs because they always sounded, for the most part, the most authentic because it was people who were passionate about travel writing them.
So that is what I hope to do with Passport Perfection. I really want this blog to be an informative and useful, but not sleep inducing, guide to all things travel. My main travel focus is on Germany but of course this site will include surrounding countries because heck a plane ticket is expensive and usually people (especially us Americans) want to get the most bang for our buck, meaning the most countries visited, most experiences had for our dollar. There is nothing wrong with that. I know I am not the most seasoned writer out there and I am a little long-winded and wordy BUT I am real and honest and passionate about what I am writing about.
Feel free to reach out to me at any time with questions you may have. If it is something I cannot answer personally perhaps my German based consultant Christiane Fritz will be able to answer it. Christiane will be contributing to the blog with her articles and reviews from time to time and she is a real true German (YAY). She will bring a unique perspective and wealth of knowledge to my blog!
